How to start with Profit Pixels from A to Z. Part II. Advanced features

In the previous publication, we looked at the basic steps you need to go through to get started with the Profit Pixels affiliate network. Today we will introduce you to the advanced features available for you to use.

Postback

First of all, we would like to remind you what a postback is and what it is used for.

A postback is a message that a tracking system or network sends to an affiliate's server to notify them of a successful conversion or payout. It may contain information such as the transaction ID, commission earned, and other details related to the conversion.

Affiliates use postbacks to keep track of their performance and earnings accurately. It helps them optimize their campaigns and make data-driven decisions by providing real-time insights into which offers, creatives, and traffic sources are generating the most revenue. Overall, postbacks are an essential tool for affiliate marketers to monitor their performance, measure ROI, and drive revenue growth. The most common use of postbacks is to integrate with a third-party tracker or advertising networks where the affiliate launches advertising campaigns.

In the Profit Pixels affiliate network you can set up two types of postbacks.

  1. Global postback for all offers.

To find it, go to your profile settings and select the "Postback settings" tab. The postback you set up here will work for all of your offers.

  1. Local postback.

On the page of each offer, you can find a section "Your postbacks". Postback set on a specific offer page will only work for that offer.

The basic idea of the postback setup is the same in both cases, but the parameters used may differ depending on the tracker. The idea is to add an external tracker's postback link to the global or local postback, using the necessary parameters. Then you need to create a campaign in the service whose tracker you plan to use, add there the tracking link of the Profit Pixels offer and use the final link from the created campaign for promotion.

TIP 1: You can see the list of available options on the Profit Pixels side by clicking on the INFO button.

TIP 2: always make sure the postback is working before launching your campaigns! Profit Pixels is not responsible if you set up postbacks in the wrong way.

TIP 3: Do not hesitate to contact your personal manager if you need help with setting up postbacks.

API (Application Programming Interface)

API integration refers to the process of connecting different software applications or systems to enable them to share data and function together seamlessly. It involves exchanging data or invoking functions between different software applications through APIs. APIs define the protocols and formats for data exchange between software systems and allow them to communicate with each other.

Affiliates use API integration to access and extract data from different affiliate platforms, networks, or programs. APIs make it possible for affiliates to automate their actions, streamline their workflow, and manage their affiliate campaigns more efficiently. Using api integration, affiliates can easily access real-time data on impressions, clicks, conversions, and payouts. This enables them to optimize their marketing strategies, track their results, and earn commissions more effectively. API integration also makes it easier for affiliates to manage their accounts, monitor their performance, and access promotional materials such as banners, links, and creatives.

In simple terms, affiliates most often use API integration when they use their own customization. Often affiliates request ready-made, archived landing pages from the affiliate network, hosting them on their side with the ability to fully customize them.

For API integration, you need two things from the affiliate network side: API documentation and the archive with the landing page. You need to put the data from the API documentation into the landing page and then host it on your domain.

You can find the API documentation in Profile Settings, under the API tab. You will need to request the archives with the landing pages from your personal manager.

OneLink

A Smartlink is a type of affiliate marketing tool that allows affiliates to send their traffic to a single URL that dynamically redirects users to the most appropriate offer or landing page based on the user’s location, device type, operating system, browser, and other targeting criteria.

This means that affiliates don’t need to manually choose and promote individual offers or landing pages. Instead the Smartlink automatically selects the most relevant offer or landing page for each user, increasing the chances of a successful conversion and maximizing the affiliate’s earnings.

Affiliates use Smartlinks to save time and resources that would otherwise be spent on manually selecting and promoting offers. Smartlinks are also beneficial for affiliates who have traffic from multiple sources or GEOs and are not sure which offers or landing pages will perform best for each traffic source. Additionally, Smartlinks can increase the chances of conversion by optimizing the selection of offers or landing pages for each user’s specific needs and preferences.

At Profit Pixels you can find the OneLink tool tab in your dashboard. It's a SmartLink with excellent functionality. If you are interested in using OneLink, contact your account manager. They can help you properly configure OneLink to make it work as efficiently as possible.

Domain Parking

The domain parking feature allows you to "park" your domain on the affiliate network. Later on you will be able to use this domain for various purposes. For example, in Profit Pixels, you can use your parked domain to host landings / prelands on it, or use it as a domain for your tracking links.

To use the parked domain functionality, go to "Parked Domains" from your dashboard. There, enter your domain name and choose what you want to use it for.

WARNING: You will need to make changes to your DNS record (CNAME) in order for the domain parking feature to work. The necessary value will be displayed on the page after the domain is bound. New values of DNS records may take effect after several hours.

Now you are familiar with the advanced tools of the Profit Pixels affiliate network.
